My baby's not a baby anymore.

Just went shopping and got Marcus a new pair of shoes. He is now a size 6 and has to get his shoes from the men's section. He's not a baby anymore. All the things that make you realise that your kids are growing up are very sad. The first backpack that doesn't have kids cartoon / shows on it, a real grown up one. The first pair of shoes from the adult section. The yes there is no Santa talk. The double digit birthday. It's sad and makes you feel old. I am nostalgic at the moment. I haven't even tried the winter school pants on yet and I just know that they won't fit. Will it be let it down or not enough to let down and just get new ones. Don't even start on the shirts.
The weather has changed and the cold has come. I don't like being cold, but at least there is the flannel pj's and snuggling. The wonderful hearty meals - not that my bum needs it. The wind on your face and the scarfs.
Hope your all keeping warm and enjoying your holidays. I miss my kitten, and Ken and Jack. Missing my friends, but enjoying the sleeping, not the eye spy game on the way up here. Josh keep guessing "friken fish" to everything and Sam has no idea of letters and sounds, so you have to guess anything you can and can't see when it's his go. One of his started with w and was a seahorse. One of Josh's was being guessed when Marcus asked is it appropriate? the answer was no not really. I think I developed a twitch from the eye spy game. Can't wait to get in the car for the trip home, hope there is wine in the fridge cause I'm guessing I'll need it, maybe I'll just get some Phenergen (don't know if it will be for me or the kids).
Love you all adn hope your having as much fun as me.

The kitten is doing well and has just bitten her way through her fourth teat. Seriously working at getting her to eat out of a saucer. Emma came home with a pair of Grandmas shoes. Jeni is a size 5 and decided she didn't want the shoes and seeing as they fit Emma gave them to her. Scary stuff. Glad you are enjoying the holiday, you might want to try playing dead soldiers on the way home.

Hey There Chicky,
Yeh I hear you on the shoe front - Luke too earlier in the year went into a size 6 mens' shoe. I flipped the same way that you did. The only thing that I found was that you also pay mens prices as well.

Can't wait to catch up when school goes back. Good luck with the trip back. I am with Dan- play Dead Soldiers or have a contest of who can be the quietest for the longest - I am always willing to offer prizes for such a game. Alternatively whack the Ipod in so that you can't hear what is going on.
