On Friday I had Yum Cha for the first time, and I loved it! Can't wait to do it again. It was great, lots of yummy treats. I could go on forever, but I won't bore you. I love food and having the good company of my friends to share it with makes it even better. Ha Ha Helene you couldn't get the chopsticks in my handbag. Well this weekend will be a mixed bag of good and not so good. The not so good is a party 3.5 hours away for an in-law that I don't particularly like, a would be if they could be. We know that the family will just pick at us (its sad what some people need to do to make themselves feel good about themselves). It will be full of people that I normally wouldn't want to associate with. That's life! The good/great bit about the party is I'll see my in-laws from QLD that I love. I can't wait to see them, they're in Sydney for a week, ending with their youngest being christened next Sat, with hubby the Godfather. At least I'll have someone fun and nice and normal to hang with at the party.
Sunday will see us rush home so I can go to a baby shower with another friend for QLD down for that party. The baby shower is for my boss's daughter that I've known forever. It will be so nice to see them have a baby and my boss to be a nanna. It will be a hoot to see my boss's son with the baby, I don't think he'll hold it for a while, he thinks he might break it.
In between all this partying I have to get the washing done and uniforms ready for next week. Got a good start on that, so it won't be to bad. I'm thinking that this is weekend for catching up with QLD friends, can't wait it'll be great. Hope you have a great weekend, be good and if you can't be good don't get caught!!

Give me a drink
Today was a sh*t day. S3 was crying on the lounge before school with an ear ache. So drop off was the order of the day followed by a trip to the doctors. So that was sorted, home again to begin convalescence. You know that a sick child turns your whole day around and nothing planned gets done. Then we had tears in the afternoon about me borrowing the $20 in his wallet. Then school finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!
M1 was very evasive and unsure about the sport day changes with the ARL clinic visiting the school. So I approached his teacher to clear it all up. THEN THE FUN BEGAN. The homework issues that I thought were under control are totally not! Lazy was one of the words used, as was not being able to find his "currency" to bribe him with. As was the issue of him sitting out second lunch on Friday to complete his homework and he still didn't do it!! So again on Monday this time he managed to complete it. Then the teacher bought up the "farting" problem M1 seems to have. Now I have heard stories about this from both M1 & other mothers of children in his class. I know he does have a problem in this area, but I hoped the talks about not wanting to be the smelly child with no friends talk had done something? Apparently not, the teacher wanted to know Does he have a medical problem? Apart from being able to make his mother want the ground to open up and swallow her, I'm thinking a trip to the doctors is a real necessity. As is drinking for the mother!! How can I have children so different? At least the other mums can get a laugh. The are you wearing undies question has now gone to the next level, are you wearing undies? yes, Are you sure, please check. Oops I forgot. Again with the drinking. Some days are better than others. Where do I go from here? Do we go back to the child shrink, a bum doctor, or some new doctor I haven't yet had the pleasure of giving large amounts of money too?? God tomorrow has to be better. Hope your day was better and smelt better than mine. I did have a good weekend, but that's another blog for later.

Oh dear 2!!
Well I have been reading the valentines day entries and although I love my Hubby more than anything, valentines day is such a money spinner, I would rather my hubby give me flowers or a gift out of the blue because he loves me and wants to show it, rather than when the calendar tells him and reminds him too! We have a great and extremely supportive relationship that doesn't need a hallmark day to tell us to remind each other. I know that there are some things that have happened to us that have made us both realise how short life can be and how lucky we are to have each other, but after 13 years of marriage the bottom line ends with us. I love him more today than 18 years ago when we started to go out. If I can deal with his mother ( the witch from hell) and his brothers ( some of which are on par with his mother) and he with my family ( some of which are extremely trying) than we can deal with anything together. So having to buy flowers that are 4 times the price on Feb 14th, is just a waste of money & an insult to our relationship. I know that for some it is a great reminder to appreciate what you have, but for us it is just silly. Well I have had my rant about this holiday, and know that every family and relationship is different and hope that you all find what works for you no matter what day it involves. Most importantly I hope it involves gifts that are lovely and meaningful to your relationship and you are aware of your good fortune to have someone in your life that you love and treasure and loves and treasures you.

Oh dear!
Hubby & I were watching tv together the other day, when an ad came on about Ovarian cancer. The ad asks if you have any of the following symptoms, and then lists them, fatigue, indigestion, back pain etc. Very vague kind of symptoms and Hubby turned to me and with a straight face said "I think I have ovarian cancer". We both lost it, sometimes I wonder about him.
The kids are settled at school, they have good teachers this year, so I'm pleased. My sister was telling me about how my nephew discovered his shadow. She said it was hysterical, he was walking backwards & forwards and then dancing watching his shadow. She also told me how he was trying to pull the diamond pattern shadow from the front door of his clothes. It brings back memories and makes me smile. Watching the kids learn things and figure out how things work is a great thing. Watching the amazement on their faces when they tell you something and working out you already knew that is so funny. Telling them something and it not meaning anything until someone else tells them the same thing isn't funny! Watching them learn from their mistakes is a hard thing to do, but sometimes it's the only way to learn a life lesson, I only wish I could shield them from some of nasty stuff. I look at them and I'm amazed at how much they've learnt already and know they have so much more to discover, good & bad. Even for ourselves we are always learning new things, discovering new things and making our own mistakes and hopefully learning from them. Deep man!! Where did that all come from?
See ya round like a rissole.
