My baby

Here is S3 just 4yrs old and racing BMX just like his brothers. I'm glad the first race is over, I was so stressed about him racing. He did so well, at this age he is a sprocket and so not scored, the racing at this age is for fun and learning new skills. As you can see in his age group there were 7 riders, so just starting with that many kids and finishing the race is a wonderful achievement for all of them. I'm glad his first race is over, it won't be nearly so bad for me next time.

The first week of school is over. The kids like their teachers ( a big help for the year) and we haven't lost any lunch boxes or drink bottles so far! That's a big achievement for my boys, so Dan is running the book for the first lost item, I'm willing to help out for a fee! We have a beautiful girly lunch box & drink bottle as incentive for the boys not to loose the current ones. The school books have come home for the weekend for covering, thank goodness Hubby has the patience to cover the books because I don't. Like Rell I hate it and usually end up with the books all bubbled. Next week the real fun begins with homework NOT. Well I've rested my voice so I'm ready for the nagging and yelling to begin. Funny how different your kids can be, J2 does his homework the moment he gets home from school and its done and the rest of the afternoon and evening is his to enjoy, where M1 needs to be nagged and nagged and nagged. If only he could see the foolishness of his actions and the effect it has on his leisure time in the afternoons, not to mention his poor parents going mental. What will S3 be like next year??

After last night's racing everyone slept in. Hubby jumped out of bed at 9am muttering about being late for BMX coaching at Castle Hill this morning at 10am. Then J2 announced he didn't want to go to coaching today, he wants to start bowling as well as BMX. So M1 & hubby have gone to coaching. Hubby bought home some boxes yesterday, so I can finally pack up all the kitchen stuff that I cleaned out last weekend, and get rid of it. Hubby wants to fix the clothes line up this weekend. Imagine having a clothes line that is upright and isn't a leaning tower of pizza style that rocks away.

Doing the dance of (going back to school) joy. It's raining just enough to keep everyone inside eating and fighting. Just about to restock the school bag, got tissues ready and lunch boxes. The question of the year is how many lunch boxes and drink bottles will we go through this year? Last year the lunch box count was 10+ and the drink bottle count was 3+.

Other news, S3 can now ride the entire BMX track by himself, I don't think I could. He has always been told he can race when he can ride the whole track by himself so now we have to live up to the promise. I think I'll be a bit of a nervous wreck for the first couple of meetings. Well just sent M1 to his room for his constant use of the phrase "Jesus" when annoyed. A great thing to take back to catholic school after the holidays.

We had a massive weekend. Hubby painted the bathroom & loo, so the walls look great. Went through most of the kitchen cupboards and tossed like a mad woman & cleaned the top of the cupboards.Hubby rearranged his shed. Just have to find somewhere to take the unwanted kitchen goods. Just off to the shop to get lunch box snacks for the kids. Enjoy the end of the holidays.

Woo Hoo

Our baby is back. The red car all polished looking lovely and Hubby says handling well is home. Just as well as it ran out of rego on the 21st. So in the first 1hour back it was pink slipped and registered. The big car was fixed today so life is good! What a day with the heat and all my kids wanted to do was play outside. Can't wait for Wednesday when they go back to school. The fighting and nagging & sulking is bringing me down. Holidays are great but going back is great as well. Having both our cars is magnificent! Ah the small things. S3 is now at preschool two days a week which is nice but also gives me some guilt and sadness. His first day back was the first day for a friend of his, so it was very exciting. While I was in the shower S3 went into his room and got dressed for preschool all on his own. Got all the clothes out and changed (with undies), the first time on his own. If my 4 year old can do it why is it a drama for the 10 year old? One of life's mysteries. Bring on the weekend a long one is just what my hubby needs.

No: 9 Blah Blah Blah

Well our billet "Afro Bob" has gone home. He was a really nice guy, a big kid but that's a male thing I think. The 2 weeks of full on BMX is over and I'm enjoying the relaxed pace of holidays again. I can't believe it's only one more week before school goes back. Do I have enough clear contact, tissues etc? Do the uniforms still fit? Questions for another day. Still doing the car shuffle, should be ok next week sometime. The shuffle is on with the remaining car that we are driving needing repairs, but it will have to wait for the right time. Hubby is not happy about going back to work. Kids are fighting, life is returning to normal. I missed my party, so girls we will have to go out soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hope you all had a great new year. I went to bed before midnight, as has been the norm for the last few years, remember the days before children when we partied for the whole night and then some.

I am the king, got the first pinch & punch for the 1st of the month in for the year!! I know, I know - small things amuse small minds.

Had a great time new years day at Dan's, drank way to much, swam (nearly in undies) and had 3 large serves of my fav dish (Chang's noodle salad) that no one else in my house likes. Sorry Dan. Sam was hysterical about wanting to sleep at Dan's for a couple of days, but he got over it. Had my sister & sister-in-law and nephew's birthdays, Happy Birthday Brenda, Frith, Cheryl & Jesse. And a very special Happy Birthday to Marcus my son, he made it to 10! Will he make 11? Then today is my birthday (and neighbours) and it has been a great day. Got brain training, BBQ set, Beastie Boys CD, Scotch and a special elephant dung paper book from my dear sister - what a shitty present my husband said. We have also had an Olympian BMXer from the Netherlands (Bob) staying with us for a special coaching & racing program. He is great and is staying with some other BMXers in Narrabeen at the moment enjoying the beach & seeing as much of OZ as he can. So I have been very busy with BMX & holidays as I'm sure everyone can relate to. Can't believe the holidays are more than 1/2 over.
Had a problem with our computer that Helene's hubby fixed for me, thinking of starting the "David fixed my computer" fan club. Did ring another husband to get advice and had a very blonde moment when he answered the phone and I asked him what he was doing home, to which he replied it's Saturday. I can't keep the days in the right order when not in the normal school routine. Good news finally, smash repairers rang, looks like the insurance is going to fix hubby's car, should be back in a week or so.
Anyway got to go, it's time for a birthday celebration drink with Hubby. Made it through another year, with the help of some friends will make it through another year and many more. Love you all, thanks for the birthday wishes, can't wait to have an exciting and wonderful year.
